Typical job at a glance
- Small, contained jobs: often 1–3 days of remediation work.
- Larger jobs: a week or more, plus drying and rebuild.
- Most of the house can usually stay in use — the work area is sealed off.
- Nothing gets rebuilt until clearance passes.
Step by step
1. Inspection
Moisture meters and thermal imaging find the extent of the problem and the water source. Vault’s inspections start at $99; the $349 tier adds air sampling analyzed by Sporecyte.
2. Written estimate
A free written remediation estimate after the initial assessment. Remediation jobs start at $500.
3. Containment
Sealed plastic barriers, a zipper entry, and a HEPA negative air machine so spores stay in the work area.
4. Removal and cleaning
Moldy porous materials are bagged and removed; framing and hard surfaces are HEPA-vacuumed and cleaned.
5. Drying
Materials are dried to standard and the moisture source is fixed.
6. Clearance
Vault’s AMRT-certified crew performs post-remediation clearance; air samples go to Sporecyte, an outside lab. Your 90-day mold warranty starts here.
7. Rebuild
Insulation, drywall, and finishes go back under our general contractor license.
What you’ll be asked to do
- Clear the work area of personal items where possible
- Keep kids and pets out of the contained area
- Avoid opening the containment
- Ask about staying home during the work — see can I stay during restoration?
