The short version
- “Mold removal” is the common phrase — but mold spores exist everywhere, so no one can remove all mold.
- “Mold remediation” means bringing mold back to normal levels: removing growth, cleaning, fixing the moisture, and verifying.
- Anyone promising “100% mold removal” is overselling.
What a real remediation job includes
- Inspection and moisture mapping to find the water source.
- Containment — sealed plastic barriers, zipper entry, and HEPA negative air so spores don’t spread.
- Removal of moldy porous materials like drywall and insulation.
- Cleaning of framing and hard surfaces, with HEPA vacuuming.
- Drying to standard.
- Fixing the moisture source so it doesn’t come back.
- Clearance — post-remediation verification before rebuild.
At Vault, clearance is done by our AMRT-certified crew, with air samples analyzed by Sporecyte, an outside lab. Our IICRC firm certification for mold is AMRT #319482.

- No mention of finding the moisture source
- Guarantees of permanent or 100% removal
- Pressure to decide on the spot
