Water Damage Restoration in Wasatch, Provo
When a supply line fails upstairs, the damage doesn’t stay upstairs. Water runs through the subfloor, soaks into insulation and comes through the ceiling below, so one leak ends up damaging two floors. That’s what happened on a recent Vault job in Wasatch.
Vault Mold Removal works out of a staffed office, shop and warehouse at 1169 S 760 W in Provo. Wasatch is inside Provo city limits, so it’s covered by our 45-minute arrival guarantee (Monday–Saturday, 8 AM–5 PM): if we’re late, your emergency inspection is free. Call (385) 250-2825 any hour. The Vault crew answers, not a call center.

Upstairs leaks and winter supply-line failures
Cold snaps are hard on plumbing in exterior walls, unheated spaces and older connections. A supply line that has held for years can split when temperatures drop. Upstairs, even a short leak sends water down through the floor system and into the ceiling below.
- Know where your shut-offs are. Every toilet and sink has a small valve under it, and the whole house has a main. In a burst-pipe emergency, a minute saved closing the valve saves a lot of drywall.
- Watch the ceiling below. A brown stain, sagging drywall or water dripping from a light fixture means water has collected above. Keep people out from under it and turn off power to that fixture’s circuit.
- Dry both floors, not just the one you can see. Subfloor, insulation and the ceiling cavity below all hold water. Moisture readings show where it went, so drying covers the hidden areas too.
- Before cold weather, keep heat on in rooms with plumbing on exterior walls, open cabinet doors under sinks on very cold nights, and disconnect garden hoses from outside spigots.
If it happens in your Wasatch home
- Stop the water at the fixture’s shut-off valve, or at the main if you can’t find the source.
- Stay safe. Keep away from water near outlets, cords or the electrical panel, and from any ceiling that’s sagging.
- Photograph everything before you move anything, for your insurance claim.
- Move belongings off wet floors, and leave the carpet and drywall in place so moisture readings can be taken first.
- Call (385) 250-2825. We log the time we answer and the time we arrive on your work order.
