Water Damage Restoration in Foothills, Provo
A single strong storm can lift shingles and loosen flashing, and the next rain finds the opening. In May 2026 a spring thunderstorm damaged a roof in Foothills and water got into the attic insulation and a bedroom ceiling. Vault removed the wet insulation and dried the structure.

Storm damage to roofs, and what happens inside
Wind can crease or tear off shingles and pull flashing loose around vents, chimneys and walls. Water then runs into the roof deck and attic, soaks the insulation and comes through the ceiling, sometimes days after the storm.
- After a big storm, look for shingles in the yard, missing or lifted shingles on the roof (from the ground), and new stains on ceilings.
- Check the attic with a flashlight for wet or compressed insulation and damp spots on the roof deck.
- Get the roof covered. A temporary tarp or a roofer’s repair keeps more water out while the inside is dried.
- Document everything for insurance. Storm damage is often covered, and photos of both the roof and the interior damage help the claim. Vault bills State Farm, USAA, Allstate, Farmers and Bear River Mutual directly.
If it happens in your Foothills home
- Stop the water at the fixture’s shut-off valve, or at the main if you can’t find the source.
- Stay safe. Keep away from water near outlets, cords or the electrical panel, and from any ceiling that’s sagging.
- Photograph everything before you move anything, for your insurance claim.
- Move belongings off wet floors, and leave the carpet and drywall in place so moisture readings can be taken first.
- Call (385) 250-2825. We log the time we answer and the time we arrive on your work order.

What our Foothills customers say
“We noticed the carpet in our basement bedroom felt damp, but couldn’t figure out where the water was coming from. The technician used moisture detection equipment to check the walls and flooring. Once the source was identified, they helped us understand the drying process and what materials needed attention.”
